This study is to develop a computer tool to predict what long term side effects people might have after radiotherapy.

This study is open to people who are having treatment at the Cambridge University Hospital (Addensbrooke’s). And have one of the following cancers:

More about this trial

Like all cancer treatments radiotherapy can have long term side effects. And these can affect your quality of life Open a glossary item

Doctors can’t say what your risk is of getting these long term side effects. By knowing what the risks are doctors can better prepare you for any long term side effects you might have.

Researchers want to develop a computer tool to predict an individual’s risk of getting long term side effects.

To do this they need people who are having radiotherapy to fill in a questionnaire about their side effects.

The aim of this study is to gain information about the long term side effects after radiotherapy. And to use this to develop a computer tool that can predict an individual’s risk of getting them.

Please note
You won’t get any benefit from taking part in this study. But the information gained can help others in the future.

Who can enter

The following bullet points list the entry conditions for this study. Talk to your doctor or the study team if you are unsure about any of these. They will be able to advise you.

Who can take part

You may be able to join this study if you are having radiotherapy at Cambridge University Hospital (Addensbrooke’s). And have one of the following cancers:

And all of the following apply. You are:

Who can’t take part

You cannot join this study if you aren’t able to or willing to:

  • learn how to fill in the questionnaires online
  • access or fill in the questionnaires online

Trial design

The researchers need at least 1,500 people to join.

Taking part doesn’t affect your treatment.

You fill in a questionnaire online at regular times during your treatment. And then every 3 months for 2 years after treatment. The questions are about any side effects you might have.

You complete the questionnaires online at home. The questionnaire takes 20 minutes to complete.

Hospital visits

There are no extra hospital visits if you take part in the study.

Side effects

There are no side effects if you take part in this study.
