Safeguarding our volunteer Campaigns Ambassadors

Safeguarding refers to the measures and actions taken to identify and protect children and adults at risk of harm, abuse, neglect, or any impairment of their mental and physical health or development.

Cancer Research UK is committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of its staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and other people who come into contact with the charity through all of its diverse range of activities.

As stated in the Campaigns Ambassador Charter and the Welcome to Volunteering Booklet we ask you to treat everyone fairly, and with dignity and respect, including those who hold different beliefs and views to you.

If there is an incident where you have been either the victim of abuse or harm whilst volunteering as a Campaigns Ambassador, or you have concerns relating to another Campaigns Ambassador, please report these to us at campaigning@cancer.org.uk.

Where you believe an individual may be at immediate risk of harm or abuse you must call 999 and give them details of the incident/concern in the first instance.

We take all reports of harm and abuse seriously at Cancer Research UK and have a responsibility to protect and prevent harm or abuse where possible. You can find further information about safeguarding at Cancer Research UK in the Welcome to Volunteering Booklet
