Change a donation

Change your message or donor name

Don't worry if you've donated to someone and want to change the message you left. You can edit your donation message online.

  • First you need to find your donation confirmation email with the subject line 'thank you for your donation' from no-reply@fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org. This will have been sent to the email address you entered when making your donation.
  • In the email, look for the text that’s says, ‘If you made a mistake you can edit your donation at any time’.
  • Follow the link to edit your donation message and donor name. Select 'Save' to see your changes on the page.

Change your donation amount

If you want to change the donation amount, please call us on 0300 123 4452.

If you want to add or remove Gift Aid, you'll need to give us a call on 0300 1234452 so we can read out the declaration for you to confirm.

Transfer donations to Cancer Research UK

All the money you raise on your Giving Page will automatically be transferred directly to Cancer Research UK.

You don't need to close your page or do anything else.

If you have collected cash or cheques or donations on other fundraising platforms, check out the FAQs below.

The best way to pay in money which has been raised in cash or by cheque made out in your name is to pay it into your own bank account, then make a donation to your page for that amount. You can say who made the donation and add a message from them when you add the donation. 

This is a two part process:

1.Send in the cheque

Write the URL of your Giving Page on the back of your cheque and send the cheque along with this money return form and your sponsorship form to:

2. Add the cheque amount to your Giving Page as an offline donation

Donations by cheque made out to Cancer Research UK don't show on your Giving Page automatically so if you want to represent this money on your page, follow these steps:

  • Log into your account and go to the Giving Page where you want the donation by cheque to show.
  • Scroll down to the 'Latest updates' section of the page.
  • Tap 'Add money raised offline' and select 'Offline (Cheque made out to Cancer Research UK)'.
  • Scroll down and add the Donation amount. You can also add an optional donor name and donation message.
  • Tap 'Save' and the amount will appear on your page as an offline donation.

Facebook Fundraisers

Money raised through a Facebook Fundraiser linked to your Giving Page will appear on your Giving Page. Check out our Facebook fundraising FAQs for further support. 

Other fundraising platforms

Some other social media fundraisers (such as Instagram) or other fundraising platforms (such as JustGiving) send the money you raise to your chosen charity. Please check with the platform you used whether the money is sent directly to Cancer Research UK or whether you are responsible for sending the money.

Apart from Facebook Fundraisers, any donations you receive through other platforms will not appear on your Giving Page. 

You can still let people see the amount you’ve raised on other platforms. You just need to add the donations onto your Cancer Research UK Giving Page as an ‘offline donation’.

How to add an 'offline donation'

  • Log into your account and go to the Giving Page where you want the donation to show.
  • Scroll down to the 'Latest updates' section of the page.
  • Tap 'Add money raised offline' and select 'Offline'. Even though Just Giving income was raised online, we just mean it was raised outside of the Cancer Research UK Giving platform.
  • Scroll down and add the Donation amount.
  • Tap 'Save' and your page will then show the combined total raised from online and offline donations.

Money raised through your Cancer Research UK Giving Page

All the money you raise on your Giving Page will be automatically transferred directly to Cancer Research UK. You don't need to close your page for this to happen.

Technical issues

It can sometimes take a while for the system to update after a donation has been made. If the donation still isn’t showing on the page 24 hours later, please phone us on 0300 123 4452.
